Green Oleo is one of the largest oleochemical manufacturers in Europe. We are one of the market leaders in green chemicals made from renewable sources, such as acid oils (predominantly from olive oil) and animal fats. Our raw materials are mainly derived from processing byproducts of the food industry which can no longer be repurposed for human or animal consumption. As we source our raw materials from the local area, we have been able to establish an exceptionally short supply chain that is highly sustainable. In short, an approach to sustainable development geared towards promoting a truly circular economy.

Our mission is to be market leaders for products made from renewable sources (olive oil, in particular) and to meet the needs of even the most demanding markets.
Our Headquarters
Green Oleo has its registered office and production plant in Cremona, Via Bergamo 66. The Green Oleo production facility spans an area of 64,000m2, 20,000 of which are covered. It currently employs a staff of over 70 workers. The facility holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 e ISO 45001 certifications.
Our Story
Established in 1925 to meet the needs of the local agricultural market, Green Oleo now has a great legacy of company culture: nearly a century of history which we hold very dear to our hearts. And to us, perhaps the most special part of it is observing how our story is still constantly evolving. A past that we can draw on to imagine and put into practice what we want to be in future. It should come as no surprise, then, that we love to define ourselves as a start-up with nearly 100 years of experience in the production of fatty acids and glycerine.
In 2012, Green Oleo was taken over by the Buzzella family. With over 60 years of experience in the chemical industry (including over a decade in oleochemicals), in the space of just over ten years they have brought their expertise, innovation and sustainability to fuel the growth of Green Oleo.
